Hey

I'm Aly!

Hey there guys! I'm Aly Barnett! Most days you can find me wearing black leggings, in a yoga class, then afterwards spending too much time on Instagram, listening to my favorite podcast, and trying to cook. I am mostly known for my red hair, and my non-stop talking. People often refer to me as the yogi always drinking red wine. I love serving the world by documenting what is in front of me. The things I am most passionate about in life are traveling, my fur baby, nailing down crow pose, finding a new hard cider to try, road trips with my wonderful boyfriend, and teaching other photographers.

A little bit more about me, I am from Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design with my BFA in (yes) Photography in 2015. How many people can you say document wedding and actually have a degree?! I still cannot believe it was almost 3 years ago! I currently shoot weddings, and engagements. Being a freelancer is a full-time job, and hard work y'all! I am hoping to get my Masters degree in Photography and becoming a professor. Maybe even a Yoga Instructor! How cool would it be to teach Yoga and Photography?! Maybe both at the same time?!

My boyfriend Sam and I met almost 3 years ago on Tinder. Yes Tinder! He is a High School History teacher and I cannot tell you how much fun our life has been! From traveling to England, Adopting Sophie, and drinking all the beer/cider in Asheville!

Meet Sophie!

This little babe got rescued from Cabarrus Pet Society! She was all alone in a field and heartworm positive. Sam and I spent a YEAR dreaming of having our own dog. Sadly, our work schedule didn’t allow time for a pup on our hands. Finally we said “screw it!” We were on the hunt for our own pup! We applied for 5 dogs before we found Sophie! It was so disheartening at first. Getting excited about a new dog just to find out that they were off to a good home that wasn’t ours. I told myself “It will be worth it when we find he or she!” Guys, it was TOTALLY worth the wait! Sophie is like our child we birthed! But obviously we didn’t. Regardless of the puppy chewing and accidents, this Sophie Puff is our angel and one of the best things in our lives!
